This year’s Gastrofestival in Madrid will be be taking place from January 20 – February 4, 2018.
The 9th installment of this annual event continues to expand its program, with over 450 establishments participating in a variety of events spanning a wide range of themes: Gastronomic Madrid, Gastroculture, Sensory Experiences, Gastrofashion, Eno-culture and Gastrohealth.
A variety of cultural centers are taking part in the festival, including museums and food markets. Visitors to the Museum of Decorative Arts can take a guided tour of the Valencian kitchens to learn about the food that was served. The tour will include a tasting of chocolate from San Ginés, a well-known cafe in Madrid that dates back to 1894. The terrace of the Fine Arts Circle will host the photographic exhibition Chef to Face by Roberto Ranero, where edible flowers can be sampled with sweets in the Fransen et Lafite flower shop or tastings and samplings at the Montsequi Gallery.
A number of municipal food markets, including Antón Martín, Barceló, Vallehermoso and La Paz, will offer culinary and special tapas workshops, along with tasting and sampling sessions. Mercamadrid will offer “Enjoy Mercamadrid with Juan Pozuelo”, a guided tour led by the chef from Madrid.
