No visit to Granada would be complete without touring the Alhambra that sits atop a hillside overlooking the city. Built in the 14th C. as the primary residence of the Nasrid Sultans, it is one of the most famous examples of Moorish architecture, and the most popular tourist attraction in all of Spain.
In addition to the Alhambra, visitors should also explore Granada’s historic city center. A “must see” site is the Cathedral and adjoining Royal Chapel, which contains the tombs of the Catholic Monarchs, Queen Isabella of Castile and King Ferdinand of Aragón, who unified Spain and funded Columbus’ discovery of America for Spain.
You can choose either a 3 hour tour of the Alhambra only, or a 4 hour tour of the Alhambra and the historic city center.
1) 3 Hour Private Tour (Alhambra Only) – Includes Alhambra Tickets with Skip the Line Entry
The 3 hour private tour includes a visit to the Alhambra and Generalife Gardens. Entrance tickets to the Alhambra are included in the prices below, and you will be not have to wait in line to enter.

2) 4 Hour Private Tour (Alhambra & Historic City Center) – Includes Alhambra Tickets with Skip the Line Entry
The 4 hour private tour includes visits to the Alhambra, Generalife Gardens, and a walking tour of the city center to visit the Cathedral and Royal Chapel. Entrance tickets to the Alhambra are included in the prices below, and you will be not have to wait in line to enter.
During the 4 hour private tour your guide will take you through the Alhambra complex, including the Alcazaba (military fortress), the Palacios Nazaríes (Nasrid Palaces), and the Generalife Palace and Gardens. They will tell you about the history of this magnificent structure, and share with you stories about what life was like for the Moorish kings and family members who lived within the walls of the palace.
The visit to the Alhambra will take approximately 2.5 – 3 hours, leaving enough time to visit the historic city center with your guide. In the city center you can visit the Renaissance cathedral begun in 1521 and the Royal Chapel, which is the mausoleum commissioned by the Catholic Monarchs, King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, to house their remains. The tour can start either with the Alhambra visit or the city center visit, depending on the entry time secured for the Alhambra tickets.
All tours can be customized to meet your specific interests, and the city center visit can be substituted with a visit to the Albaicín or Sacromonte. The Albaicín is a charming neighborhood that was once a hub for the city’s Moorish inhabitants and offers stunning views of the Alhambra, and the Sacromonte is an eclectic and cave-studded neighborhood that is home to Granada’s gypsy community. The city center is a 10 minute walk from the Alhambra, and both the Albaicín and Sacromonte are a 20 minute taxi ride away.
Please note that the Alhambra requires the full name, date of birth, nationality and passport number for each visitor in order to request entrance tickets. Tour start times are flexible; however, they are subject to change based on ticket availability. Once the entrance tickets have been secured, the entrance time will be finalized.
