Salamanca is perhaps best known for its university, which is the oldest in Spain (founded in 1218), and the third oldest in Europe. The University has a number of sites that can be visited. The city has a vibrancy and pulse that is quite unique, and stems from the buzz created by the students that come from all parts of Spain, and around the world, to study at this esteemed institution.
