Opened in 2004, Eleven was a pioneer on the Lisbon restaurant scene, being the first restaurant in the city to receive a Michelin star.
The restaurant was the brainchild of 11 friends (hence the name) who wanted to raise the bar on fine dining in the city. One of those friends was renowned chef Joachim Koerper, who had previously run/owned 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants in France and Spain. By 2007 the friends’ efforts were recognized when Eleven won its Michelin star. Although Eleven lost its star in 2011, the restaurant was able to regain it in 2014. Today it shares the honor of having a Michelin star in Lisbon with restaurants Belcanto and Feitoria.
Eleven continues to attract diners with its modern and innovative cuisine that is strongly rooted in the traditions of Mediterranean cooking. Chef Koerper uses only locally sourced ingredients, and changes his menus 4 times a year so he can highlight the best and freshest products of the season. The dining experience at Eleven is further enhanced by its location at the top of Parque Eduardo II. The two-story modern building features plate-glass windows, which provide diners with sweeping views of the city.
